About The Anthony Kitchen
From One Kitchen To Another

Well, hello there! Glad you could join me. My name is Kelly Anthony. I am a born-and-bred Texan residing in Bryan-College Station, wife and momma of two precious little girls. Most of the time, I am a stay-at-home mom, but when I am not doing laundry, picking up messes, carting children from one place to another or pulling out my hair, I retreat to the kitchen. You see, I love food. And, I love people. Mostly, I love feeding people. This is one of my greatest passions. My specialty and favorite cuisine is comfort food. I just can't help myself. I am from Texas after all.

I started TAK in 2010 as an at-home bakery specializing in fine cookies and bars. Six years later, after building quite a collection of beloved recipes, I decided it was time to broaden my horizons. On my website, you will find tried-and-true recipes for both the dinner table and entertaining. My number one goal for The Anthony Kitchen is simple: to create recipes people will love, pass along and cherish.

All recipes at TheAnthonyKitchen.com were created by me, and approved by a discerning foodie husband, as well as my forever guinea pig children, family and friends. In addition to writing for my blog, I've dabbled in private catering, put a few televised cooking demonstrations under my belt, and also contribute a weekly column to my city's newspaper, The Eagle, where my personal stories and recipes are shared. In my most recent project, I've teamed up with the Junior Master Gardener's Learn, Grow, Eat & GO! program, an educational garden to table program, showing home cooks and kiddos alike how to prepare JMG's Garden Kitchen Recipes via Anthony Kitchen video demonstrations.

How it All Began

New at the whole stay-at-home mom thing, I found myself wishing for a way to contribute to our families' finances at Christmas-time. My prayer was answered in November of 2010 while reading Proverbs 31, “The Virtuous Wife.” Throughout this passage, the virtuous wife willingly works with her hands, provides food for her household, does her husband good all of her days, perceives that her merchandise is good and ‘the kicker’… makes things and sells them. I was inspired.
You see, we were a young, one income family. My husband's business was still new and budding. I wanted our first Christmas as parents to be a joyful one; not one in which my husband felt pressured to provide more-so than he already was.
So feeling inspired that November, I told my family and friends baked goods would be for sale. It all started from there. Baking and cooking, like any talent, is God-given. I am grateful to have realized this gift and will continue to attempt to make something of it. Both figuratively and literally.

Over a matter of years, the sale of baked goods became more than one person could handle, and after selling almost 5,000 cookies and bars the Christmas of 2015, we decided (for the sake of our families' sanity) I needed to pull back on the reigns. Baked goods are no longer for sale*, however, the Anthony Kitchen's cookie and sweet treat recipes so often requested by customers and friends will soon be available via eBook!
I am so grateful for the way The Lord has led me on this journey. His Word inspired me to master my craft as a baker in 2010, and hone in on other cooking skills all the while. If it weren't for an outpouring of blessings in the form ever-increasing orders over the course of my baking years, I likely never would have pursued a new outlet for The Anthony Kitchen. An outlet that ultimately led to the creation of this website. The Good Lord has provided for our family through my husband's business, affording me this beautiful opportunity to create quality recipes for the family table, and share them with you. I hope you will continue to join me, and the recipes will mean as much to you and your family, as they do to ours.
